Applying Multiple Discounts
If you use coupons entered on the cart page, other types of automatic discounts will be disabled. However, multiple discounts offered by the store, if of the same type, will not be cumulative; only the one with the highest or equal discount will be applied.
Type of Discounts
The store offers four mechanisms that allow you to get discounts on the final price: Period-based Store Discounts, Coupon-Activated Discounts, Cart-Based Discounts, and Shipping Discounts.
First Order Discounts – We offer discounts for first orders, which can be viewed as a notice on the product page, but are automatically applied only when completing the invoice form on the payment page.
Period Discounts – applied directly by the Store on the various products concerned. The discount will be applied to the price displayed on the product page.
Dynamic Discounts – Dynamic discounts on product categories. See the product discount tab for more details. Discounts are activated in the cart when the requirements are met.
Quantity Discounts – All products with quantity discounts and purchase sets (typical example Japanese cups) will have a table in the discounts TAB within the product sheet that shows the discounts that will be applied in the cart.
Cart Discount – Quantity and value discounts will be available in your cart (not necessarily for specific products). If you’re approaching a specific discount limit, the system will display a warning banner on the pages and in your cart.
Shipping Discount – Shipping discounts will be available: these discounts will be multiple, from reaching a certain amount in the cart, to purchasing multiple products from a certain category.
Coupon Entry – You can use coupons offered or applied to your account to add a discount to your cart. This discount must be activated by entering the coupon on the Cart page.
Applying the Discounts visible on the page
Period or quantity discounts are listed on the product page. These discounts are applied directly to the cart. In some cases, the discounts are visible for every product listed, while in other cases, the discount is only visible in the cart once the discount requirements have been met.
Applying Shipping and Cart Discounts
To apply shipping or cart discounts, you must reach a certain number of products or spend a certain amount. Usually, if you’re close to the free shipping discount, a warning box will appear in your cart and on product pages.
Apply Coupons
NOTE: Some coupons are applied by the discount system and are displayed in the coupon area even if they have not been entered manually.
COUPONS – Also referred to as “promotional codes”, “discount coupons”, “digital vouchers”… Discount Coupons, abbreviated as Coupons, are alphanumeric codes applicable in the cart and on the checkout page. Codes can be linked to a specific discount, an event, and many other reasons. They can offer percentage or fixed-cost discounts, to the entire cart or to the individual product.
HOW THEY ARE MADE – Coupons are serial numbers, made up of numbers, letters and symbols and usually never have spaces in the text.
WHERE CAN I FIND COUPONS (enter the number) – Coupons can be offered on promotional pages of the site, at trade shows, or in cases of refunds and rewards where the coupon is linked to your profile.
WHERE CAN I FIND THE FIELD TO ENTER THE COUPON (the space to enter the number)? – The coupon code can always be entered on the cart page, in a dedicated area for entering the code. Sometimes, it can also be entered on the order summary page.
CAN I CANCEL AN ENTERED COUPON? – Yes, in the cart and on the order summary page, there is an X next to the name of the active coupon in the table listing the coupons. Clicking on it will delete the coupon from your cart.
LIMITS WITH COUPONS? Coupons have very specific and defined limits, usually explained on the page offering them. In other promotional cases, however, there is no information on how long they last, how long they can be used, or how many people can use them.
HOW DO I FIND OUT IF A COUPON IS ACTIVATABLE? – By inserting it into the cart, in the designated field, you will know if the coupon is applicable.
HOW DO I FIND OUT if a COUPON IS UNUSABLE? – When you add it to your cart, a warning appears that the coupon cannot be used.
The field for entering your coupons is always accessible in the cart (sometimes on the order page), and there’s a dedicated box. Once the coupon has been entered, the discount applied by the coupon will appear after the subtotal, as a negative figure.
